Hosts the Mayor of Washington, DC

Part of a series of meetings with local and national political figures in the nation's capital; a reception for newly elected Mayor of Washington and a friend of Morocco, Adrian Fenty was held. Moroccan American leaders along with Moroccan Ambassador, Mr. Mekouar, welcomed the mayor and formally invited him to visit Morocco and help develop both cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries.
The mayor spoke highly of the positive contribution of the Moroccan American Community to the washington area in various fields. He also encouraged the Moroccan American entrepreneurs who are active in the city to double their efforts and expand their businesses.
WMC's Fatima Zahra El Maliki, a world Bank Executive, presented the Mayor with a a symbolic Moroccan gift and spoke of her experience raising two children in the area and the challenges of combining both Moroccan and American cultures and traditions.
