I really hope that RAM does not cancel this. I fly every year with RAM out of NYC and it has always been a pleasure flying with them. I do not understand why Moroccans are always negative when writing comments about this company. As far as i am concerned it is the company who got to America in the first place and it is still the company who takes me home. Having to use RAM every year, i can see why RAM staff are not customer service oriented with some of our ignorant and shameful Moroccans flying out of NYC... I wish RAM success especially after a very difficult 2009 and thank you to RAM for allowing us to fly directly to our beloved country - Samira H

I have read the complaint, and rather than leave it to a complaint, I'd suggest that WMC or its members and friends should consider a coordinated campaign in an effort to get this all changed. Perhaps the writer who thoughtfully and skillfully raised the issue might lead the effort or at least be part of a planning committee to deal with it. Complaints even well-drafted and thought out ones are one thing and helpful to raise attention to the issue; however, well-placed action is a good way to achieve a solution. I look forward to the comments of others and perhaps seeing how an effort along these lines can be made underway, starting with a planning committee. I'd be willing to help as well if asked. Thanks again to the author for raising the issue. - Conference

The reason American airlines do not fly to Morocco is because la ram is a monopoly and no other airlines can fly to Morocco without the blessing of the Moroccan government through agreement and such.

According to the poster, we should consider ourselves lucky that we get mediocre service and get abused by RAM incompetent staff.

According to the poster, moroccan clients from North America are spoiled and should be thankful even if we pay thousands of $$$ for lack of competence to go see our folks.

This a very typical Moroccan mentality, many of us swear to never go back to live in Morocco for this exact reason. We have Moroccans who will take your rights and your dignity and ask you to be grateful and never open your mouth.

Many will not give up their old habit no matter how long they live outside the authoritarian Moroccan mentality.

The poster did not bother to ask him/herself , why is it that LA RAM is the most hated airlines among many unhappy customers.
Oh I know the answer, because we lived in America for a while and now we are spoiled brats.
This is disgusting!

I will keep neating RAM, because it is dead yet!

I have to say that I disagree with the commenter’s remarks. I can’t see how caring about convenience in air travel – which is, after all, one of its most important purposes – amounts to selfishness. And while RAM may have been plagued with mismanagement for decades, the idea of opening a route to DC appeared to be a glimmer of light that gave us hope that it might finally have decided to act on a good business plan that is not only profitable, but offers great customer service. Everyone I know in the DC area dislikes flying with RAM because of its lousy service, but primarily because of the connection at JFK. As I said before, I am willing to forgo and sacrifice good service for the convenience of a short flight and possibly a lower fare. You probably know that the fare of any airline ticket depends on the trip duration (direct flight versus flight with connections).

In my opinion, RAM’s top management has made terrible decisions in the last two years. From the failed acquisition of Air Senegal and the purchase of fuel at a very high price to the mishandling of the strike of its pilots, and the list goes on.

Unlike you, I am not giving up on RAM. I will keep beating RAM, because it is NOT dead yet. I will continue speaking and writing about it with the hope that it will pay attention to its customers and improve its services. Yes, it would be nice if it were to follow the example of Maroc Telecom. I won’t be surprised to see Mr. Ahizoun in charge of RAM in the future!

The truth as I see it

I see that the initial post is ridiculous in essence because it pertains to one's needs and fails to raise a legitimate question/concern. It is passengers like the owner of this post that push me to remind everyone how RAM spoiled the passengers to and from North America.
RAM has been operating in and out of JFK and Montreal for over a quarter of a century.
The lines to North America never were profitable. However, given the status of RAM (Hybrid of public and private company), the State continuously compensated the losses of the airline....because Morocco always wanted to be the only North African country to have regular transatlantic flights.
So please consider yourself lucky that there are direct flights operating between North America and Morocco.
All of our neighboring countries do not have the convenience of flying directly in and out of North America.
You keep pointing the finger at la RAM as an evil doer ...in the mean time you fail to see that none of the American Airliners are interested in flying to and from Morocco: The reason being that it (still) does not make sense from a business stand point. - Smom

I will not fly with RAM unless they learn the importance of costumer service. I understand that some costumers are difficult to deal with but there is no reason for thinking that they fly chicken on board. Pilots need to understand that making passengers on board are comfortable. Some pilots take off without warning passengers, no warning for turbulences…etc. I will fly air France and other competitors until RAM understand their commitment to their costumers.

This is AS USUAL a very selfish comment. The poster only cares about his convenience, what about people who live in the north coast, west cost,..etc?
La RAM needs to and it will sooner or later. The Moroccan is only delaying the inevitable.
I mentioned selfish because when we keep nourishing companies like la RAM and look the other way when they are screwing us up , we are hurting other consumers. La ram should be of service of all not only the few.
We and the Moroccan government are better off selling La RAM. A good example, Maroc telecom is one of the most profitable companies in all Africa thanks to the Vivendi.

I hope that this RAM will never open any other route, I and everyone should be able to use other airlines until a solution to la ram is found. if you have kids, trust me, it's all fun and play for them to connect from other airports and a good experience for them to see other people and other places.

You can only beat the dead for so long!
