Wydad of Washington (WAC) Wins Terrill Cup in Style

Washington Athletic Club (WAC) won Washington International Soccer League's
(WISL) Terrill cup for the second time with a decisive 4 - 0 win. WAC's supporters who managed to attend were indeed entertainment.  The game overall was exciting and fun.  First-half was even with very few chances
created by both teams. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw. The second-half, however, was a complete different story; a halftime talk of the
coaching staff with the players saw them morph into a more energized and
organized side.
During that half and with the continuous fans' support and chants, WAC began
to slowly take control of the match. The game could have ended with WAC
scoring more than four goals considering WAC's performance.
Left winger Said Hilali scored three of the four goals earning him the MVP
honors, and Ali Hidara scored one.
The goals were high quality most notably Hilali's second goal which was a
pure show of skills:  Charging with the ball from the left side, Hilali
dribbles two defenders to find himself face to face with the goalkeeper.
With the impression that he is about to kick the ball into the net, he
abruptly switched direction with the ball on his feet after the keeper had
already committed to one side, causing two chasing defenders to collide with
the goalie.
Hilali found himself alone before a wide open empty net.  A gentle and a
cool kick saw the ball caressing the back of the net.  Such goals shatter
defenses' confidence and that was the case in this instance for the opposing
team.

As for the other WAC players, there performance was solid and they
entertained the crowd.  Their display of skill and talent was through making
nice crosses, covering each other and working as a team on defense, and
providing a Petit Pont for fan's amusement.  Goalkeeper, Oussama Moukram,
was solid as usual.
Fans in turn provided entertainment themselves through occasionally teasing
their own team and making the players laugh, something that helped the
latter relax and have a good time on the pitch.
After the final whistle blow, teams shook hands and congratulations in a
show of good sportsmanship.  League's commissioner then presented WAC with
the trophy declaring them Champions.  Players, coaching staff, and fans
alike congratulated each other.  Souvenirs were taken in form of pictures
and video.
It was heart-warming to see new friendships forged, old ones rekindled, and
people who have never met share joy and sense of pride and unity.   As
community members they were together and on the same page even if only for
two hours. The entire experience was very positive and pleasant accentuating
the power of a pleasure as simple as WAC.

This is Heartwarming, what a wonderful feeling, WAC was always the first to step in , founded on 1937 in Casablanca, Morocco, then 20 years of existence here in America ( WOW) . Nevertheless, All of us are proud to be Moroccans, my father used to say as he was a militant you should be Wydadi first of all, what he meant is "Watani" good citizen. I Saw also the green flag Of Raja Casablanca, what a nice gesture . God bless this kids and their sponsors. I noticed on the video Hassan from WAC, Casablanca and Abderrahim from TAS,Casablanca both these gentlemen used to be great players

Cheers

Congratulations to an over achiever team namely WAC. My best wishes to all these athletes who work so hard to represent the beautiful game of soccer in the Moroccan style. A style that mismerises the connaisseurs of soccer all over the globe. These Athletes deserve frankly better exposure and better support from the Moroccan community and those who love the fun and ambiance the game in general. I urge those who are in charge of these youth to find ways and venues to promote this team in better ways. There are so many people who would like to see more coverage and more info on how to be involved and support their team. There must be some professional or at least consistant coverage and interviews with the coach and players. It is nice to know they are winning but how? who are these great players what is the secret of this successful team? What makes them special among all the teams in washington area? a very compatitive league we all know. We are all curious to know. Winning is good but it could better when everyone is involved. A great team deserves great fan.
