Moroccan Vocalist Karima Skalli  who performs both Classical Arabic titles such and Moroccan Andalusian music has been performing in the US  with the Multicultural Mesto Orchestra.
The orchestra is comprised of American professional musicians with diverse ethnic backgrounds who are able to perform Arabic and other Middle Eastern Music thanks to compositions by maestro Nabil Azzam who has made it possible for musicians who have not grown up with the music to be able to perform the music in such a high level.

In this documentary, Karima Skalli speaks on music as a common language between cultures and about the Mesto orchestra followed by a powerful performance with  a classical Oum Kalthoum song at the Detroit Max Fisher Music center for the Arab American National Museum Gala.

Enthrolled

One can say that Arabic music is the mother of all modern music. One can say that the origins of Classical music started in Andalucia. One can say that we have produced genus musicians throughout human history. One can say this is music for everything that is alive, for nature and even the celestial. Ms. Karima Skali, you have made your mark in history, the world of music especially classical western music will never be the same.

Dr. Nabil Azzam I am enthralled with your innovative adaptation of Arabic music transposing it to a universal mode. I take my hat off to you. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Every Arab in general term should proud of this realization, Every Moroccan in particular should be enchanted, indeed we have a diva in Karima Skali.
